People’s lawyer and a rationalist Adv Amrut Kansar was laid to rest on Tuesday afternoon. He was known for fighting causes of the downtrodden people from Kull-Mundkar to the sevekari of temples.

He was also the MP of Loksabha in 1977.

Hundreds of people from different walks of life attended his funeral. It not only included politicians and lawyers but also social activists, writers, intellectuals and common people from all over Goa.

Personally Kansar had come up in life by fighting against all the odds of poverty and misery. And till the end, he fought in the court as well as on the streets for the poor and helpless people.

These are some of the tributes paid to him by the veterans as well as the common men.
