Bishop leads Fatima procession in Panaji

Hundreds of devotees accompanied the statue on the way to the church.

This year’s event had special significance as the apparition completes a centenary.

Our Lady had appeared to three shepherds, namely Lucia dos Santos and her cousins  Francisco and Jacinta Marto in 1916 at Fatima in Portugal.

All three have since been canonized by the Catholic church.
