657 leave for Hajj from Goa on Monday

A total of 657 pilgrims left for Hajj from Goa on Monday.



The government has allotted 6500 square meters of land near Dabolim Airport to Goa Hajj Committee to conduct camps for the pilgrims from next year.

Two special Air India flights departed to Medina in Saudi Arabia on Monday from Goa with 657 Hajj pilgrims.

The first flight left at 4 in the morning while second flight departed at 8 in the morning.

Goa Hajj Committee President and All India Hajj Committee vice chairman Shaikh Jinna said that a special Hajj camp was organized for the Hajji's from Goa and from neighboring states of Karnataka and Maharashtra at Hotel Ocean View at Zuarinagar in Sancoale.

He added that from 4.75 lakhs forms were received from all states and about 1.25 lakhs pilgrims will go for the Hajj this year.
