118th traditional Saptah commences in Vasco

The 118th traditional saptah of shree Damodar commenced in Vasco on Friday.



Several programmes were held across the port town on Friday.

The fair that began as part of the festivities with several stalls will remain open for a week.

The traditional saptah began after president of the Temple committee Paresh Joshi laid the traditional coconut at the feet of shree damodar in presence of a large number of devotees from across the state.  

24 hours nonstop bhajani saptah is the main attraction of this festival.

The local authorities have decided to hold a “garbage-free” saptah this year.


Local MLA Carlos Almeida distributed special cloth bags during a special drive on Friday in presence of the council authorities.


A special musical prgramme was organized on the eve of saptah at Vasco on Thursday.


Seven artists were felicitated during this programme.


Eminent classical singer Mahesh Kale performed in this programme.
