Saloi celebrates konsachem fest

Come August and it is harvest time in Goa. On Sunday, the parishioners of Salvador do Mundo or Saloi for short, celebrated their Konsachem fest with traditional fervour and gaiety.



 The parish priest blessed the sheaves of paddy and distributed them to the parishioners.

The parishioners first offer the paddy sheaves to the parish priest. The parish priest then blesses them and distributes them among the parishioners.

the church of the Saviour of the World was established in 1565 making it one of the early churches in Goa.

The traditional sweets, roasted nuts and grams are an inseparable part of Goan feasts.
