Won't shut down Govt primary schools, let Pvt highschools 'parent' them

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has assured that not a single primary school in the state will be closed down if there is no other school in its vicinity within the radius of 1 km.



Feeder primary schools will also be mentored by high schools in the nearby areas.

Chief Minister Parrikar was responding to a question on status of vacant Govt primary school premises in the state which was asked by Vellim MLA Filip Neri Rodrigues.

The Chief Minister also informed that if there is conclusive evidence of land ownership of vacant school premises, Government will consider to return the premises to the original owner n case to case basis.

CM Parrikar also informed about the status of vacant primary schools premises in the state.

CM also stressed on the issue of rising number of students in Govt primary schools in Goa.
