Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has officially decided to field its GoaPresident Vinay Tendulkar as Rajya Sabha candidate. The BJP also claims that they have sought consent of their coalition partners for his candidature.

This would be confirmed when Tendulkar’s nomination would be officially seconded by them on Monday.

It would be now officially approved by the Parliamentary Board. It would be since there is no other candidate. Senior Bjp leaders believe that coalition partners would also support their candidate as cm has spoken to them ….

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar had a meeting with his senior party leaders, including Tendulkar, at his official residence at Altinho on Wednesday. He is leaving for US for a week on Thursday.

While Tendulkar confirmed his candidature, MLA Nilesh Cabral said he would file his nomination on Monday. Tuesday is the last date.

BJP leaders are claiming that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has spoken to Goa Forward as well as the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party about Tendulkar’s candidature.

Goa Forward Minister Vijai Sardesai is presently abroad. We also did not get any MGP leader to confirm whether they have been spoken to. But Nilesh Cabral says that Tendulkar’s nomination papers would also be signed by the coalition partners.
