The Bharatiya Janata Party has finally denied tickets to two VIPs – Speaker Anant Shet and minister Ramesh Tawadkar

Congressman Pravin Zantye would contest as BJP in Mayem and former MLA Vijay Pai Khot in Kankon. Both of them met BJP leaders in Panaji on Saturday. Both Tawadkar and Shet have decided to contest the election.

The official announcement is yet to come from the BJP. But Tawadkar himself has confirmed that party has denied him ticket. His party workers, including Mandal office bearers, mahila and youth presidents as well as presidents of 56 booths have already resigned from the party. Tawadkar will also resign and announce what he would contest as – independent or on MGP or GSM.

It also became clear when Vijay Pai Khot met party leaders in Panaji on Saturday afternoon. By evening, he took out a procession from Chaudi to Agonda. But he preferred not to speak to media until his ticket is officially announced.

On the other hand, Congressman Pravin Zantye also met BJP leaders on Saturday. Mayem MLA Anant Shet had a meeting with his workers on Saturday evening. They have urged him to contest as independent. He has assured them to take steps as per their wish after the official announcement
