The Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and Goa Forward, the major coalition partners, have rubbished the news of they aligning with the Congress to topple the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government.

The BJP on the other hand claims that at least 8 to 10 Congress MLAs are in touch with them and want to shift over.

All have said chief minister Manohar Parrikar would complete his term of five years.

The news of the Congress trying to topple the government obviously upset the coalition partners. Health minister Vishwajeet Rane,

who quit the Congress to become the minister, was the first one to react on Saturday morning. He also admitted that the coalition partners met immediately to confirm that they are still together.

The media caught hold of MGP minister Sudin Dhwalikar when he had come to Manipal hospital for a function.

He asked how could they even think of shifting over when the MGP had requested Parrikar to come down as the CM and lead the coalition government.

By Saturday afternoon, Goa Forward minister Vijai Sardesai also had a press conference to clarify his position. Because the news is that the Congress has offered HIM to become the chief minister of an alternate government. He simply rubbished the news, terming it as a usual game of the Congress to create confusion.

By evening, it was BJP’s turn to conclude what their coalition partners had clarified. In retaliation, BJP’s Goa president Vinay Tendulkar claimed that at least 8 to 10 Congress MLAs are in touch with them. Like Vishwajeet, even they want to shift over.
