The fate of 251 candidates from different parties and independents is presently sealed in the Electronic Voting Machines till the 11th of March

But some of the candidates are concerned about the safety and security of the EVMs.

All the EVMs of North Goa have been kept at the Bal Bhavan in Panaji and of the South at the Multipurpose school complex at Madgao.

It is guarded by the local policemen as well as the Central Industrial Security Force.

But Congress Candidate from Canacona IsidoreFernandes claims that Army Personnel areguarding the EVMs.

He suggests that the election commission should allow the candidate to guard the EVMs.

United Goans Party leader Babush Monsorattedoesn’t agree with the suggestion of Isidore that representatives of the candidate should be allowed to keep the watch.

He feels that the state police and CISFare competent enough to guard the voting machines.

Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch leader Subhash Velinkar also feels the same way.

But he wants the Election commission to follow certain precautionary measures.
