New Govt would be Cong-controlled, without compromises: Girish

Congress has said they are desperate to topple the existing government, but not desperate to form an alternate government.

AICC Secretary Girish Chodankar has also said that the new government would be controlled by the Congress and would not compromise on its policies.

The party is also planning to take into confidence BJP’s coalition partners to field a consensus candidate for Rajya Sabha MP.

Girish did not name Goa Forward. But he appealed to the secular parties in the coalition government to snap ties with the BJP and joins hands with the Congress.

And if the alternate government is formed, he said the Common Minimum Programme would be framed before forming the government, not afterwards.

Girish has also hinted that they would consult Goa Forward as well as the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and field a consensus candidate for Rajya Sabha election.

He says he would be a serious candidate, not merely to oppose.

Girish also claims all is not well in the ruling coalition. And to prove his point, he asks why Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has not handed over his charge to anybody as the acting chief minister while leaving for US.
