New financial assistance scheme for maintaining old cows in 4 months: CM

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has announced in the assembly that the Government will formulate a new policy to give financial assistance to the dairy farmers for maintenance of old cows.

The government intends to help individual dairy farmers in sustaining the cows not yielding milk.

CM Parrikar was responding to a question from former chief minister Pratapsingh Rane who himself is a passionate dairy farmer.

With the existing cow slaughter ban in the state, one cannot kill the old cows.
