Missed the ‘Goa Govt’ bus, still Cong confident of winning 2 more polls

Congress won 17 Assembly seats and became a single largest party. But could not form the government.

In spite of this, the opposition party feels it would win two forthcoming elections. One is the Rajya Sabha and second is panchayat elections.

How? Even they don’t explain.

Some Congress leaders keep on saying that they can still form the government if Luizinho Faleiro steps down as the GPCC president. And now opposition leader Babu Kavalekar says the Congress would win the Rajya Sabha election of Goa.

The MP is elected by the 40-member Assembly. And presently the majority is with the BJP-led coalition. Still Babu is confident.

The second leader is AICC Secretary and Goa in-charge Amit Deshmukh.

He blamed the non-BJP parties and even his own Congressmen for joining hands with the BJP to form the government.

But still he feels Congress would perform well in the panchayat elections scheduled for 11th of June.
