The Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and Goa Suraksha Manch have demanded public apology from Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa for the destruction they made before leaving Goa.

Aam Aadmi Party however has opposed this stand.

The Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa belongs originally to Goa. During his visit to India, he will visit his ancestral house and state of Goa for two days from 11th January. On the eve of his visit, MGP leader Sudin Dhawalikar has demanded public apology from him for the destruction the then Portuguese government made 55 years ago when Indian army hadentered Goaon 18th December 1961to liberate us.

The Goa Suraksha Manch has also supported the demand. Rebel RSS leader Subhash Velingkar in fact goes one step forward. He feels it is a deliberate move of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar to manage Costa’s Goa visit, to woo the voters.

Dr Oscar Rebello of the Aam Aadmi Party however has vehemently opposed such kind of demand. He feels that friendly nations should invest in dreams of future rather than clinging on to the ghost of the past.
