Khalap's Mandrem college gets Govt notice despite HC order

Senior Congress leader and chairman of the society running Mandrem College Ramakant Khalap has expressed shock over the show cause notice issued to the college by the Higher Education Directorate.

The directorate has asked why the NOC granted to the college should not be withdrawn.

Earlier too the Mandrem college was in difficulties with the authorities and had to approach the High Court after its approval was withdrawn and cancelled.

The high court had then quashed the withdrawal order.

Khalap says that this particular show cause notice relies on false and malicious claims that the college is close to other colleges and the quality of education would suffer if the college is allowed to function.
