Judicial inquiry only way to curb drugs: Mikky

Former Tourism minister Francis Xavier Pacheco demanded a judicial inquiry into the drug trade on Friday.

He said that this was the only way to curb the drug menace given that there is a nexus between politicians and police in the state.

Mikky who alleged that many politicians were literally living on these illegal activities, said that for the past 5 years the main drug trade corridor of Calangute, Siolim and Mandrem was represented by BJP MLAs.

He also charged that the police was only booking small fry and catching ganja when there were all types of harder drugs entering Goa from various quarters.

Mikky Pacheco is a former tourism minister and also part of the assembly inquiry into the politicians, police and drug lords nexus.
