High Court dismisses Cong plea on Vishwajit disqualification

The Minister has welcomed the order and reposed his full faith in the judiciary. There is another disqualification petition with the speaker Pramod Sawant.

The petitions were filed after Vishwajit had won from Valpoi on a Congress ticket, but defied a whip and resigned both from the assembly and the party on the same day.

He subsequently won the bye elections from Valpoi by a record margin on a BJP ticket.
