Peace loving Goans are fuming over increasing incidents of desecrations of religious shrines. Veteran Goan singer Hema Sardesai has now taken a lead to hold a peace rally in Madgao on Sunday along with concerned citizens.

On the other hand, Goa Forward minister Vijai Sardesai has offered to rebuild all the damaged shrines.

It would be a musical concert and a rally at Lohia Maidan in Madgao on Sunday evening. The initiative is taken by Goa’s artists, stakeholders in tourism industry and other concerned citizens.

Goa Forward minister Vijai Sardesai had a media briefing on Thursday to announce that former Congressman Trajano D’Mello is joining his party.

There he spoke of rebuilding all the broken Crosses by taking due permission from the authorities. But BJP leader and deputy speaker Michael Lobo disagrees with his initiative.
