Elections of 15 wards in 10 panchayats are getting postponed. They will be probably held on or before 2nd of July.

The High Court on Tuesday permitted the State Election Commission to hold these elections within 25 days.

The rest of the elections would be held on 11th June as per the schedule.

These were the reserved wards, which were made general by the high court but later made reserved once again by the Supreme Court.

The High Court on 24 June had stayed reservations and delimitations of total 14 wards in 9 panchayats. 10 wards in 7 panchayats among it were related to the ward reservations for the OBC and scheduled tribe.

It included wards of Sancoale, Merces, Betki-Khandola, Curti-Khandepar, Curca-Bambolim, Advalpal, Penha da Franca, Anjuna and Betalbatim.
