Looks like the government is learning a lesson from the Sanvordem mishap.

PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar has decided to conduct safety audit of 100 big and small bridges built during Portuguese regime. If required, they will be repaired.

Dhawalikar also said his department had already conducted safety audit of 47 bridges and culverts in South Goa. According to him, the repair of each four metres of span of a culvert would cost the government around one crore rupees.

He plans to approach the finance ministry for additional financial help.
