Govt plans action on liquor outlets in phases, to begin with hoardings

The government has decided to deal with the issue of liquor outlets on highways in phases

First deal only with the hoardings of liquor and then the outlets in the close vicinity.

The Supreme Court has set a deadline of 31st March.

Looks like the government won’t touch the outlets in the first phase.

The Congress on Friday took up the issue of liquor outlets only to criticize the BJP government for not doing anything for the last one month.

But South Goa Collector Swapnil Naik informed Goa365 that the government had its first meeting almost 20 days ago. And this is what they have planned.

The Congress is neither suggesting anything nor demanding a solution on the issue which will affect thousands of liquor traders in the state.

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Luizinho Faleiro has simply taken this as an opportunity to condemn the BJP government.
