Govt officers banned from visiting ministers’ & MLAs’ houses

circular issued by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has created a furor among the MLAs.

Because it bars any government officer visiting minister or MLA’s house for a meeting.

While minister can summon them at the official bungalow, the MLAs have to either go to the office to meet them and call them together at the collectorates.

The Congress has termed this a dictatorship. And the ruling MLAs are also confused.

The issued was raised by former Chief Minister and Congress MLA Ravi Naik in the Assembly on Wednesday.

Opposition Leader Babu Kavalekar demanded that they be allowed to hold meetings in their offices. But Parrikar was firm.

Two former chief ministers Digambar Kamat and Luizinho Faleiro also did not agree with the circular issued by the BJP chief minister.

The ministers belonging to the coalition party like Goa Forward and even the BJP MLAs are not wholeheartedly supporting the circular issued by their own chief minister.
