Govt decides on Panchayat Poll holiday

The government has taken over powers to declare public holiday for panchayat elections in all the establishments.
The cabinet on Wednesday decided to amend the Panchayati RajAct.
The cabinet also cleared the transfer of land for NIT project to the Human Resources ministry.Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said that the NIT had already agreed to reserve 40 per cent seats for Goans.
