Disappointed that their demand for changing the party candidate in Mormugao constituency was not heeded by the BJP leadership, over 1000 workers have revolted against the party and pledged their support to Congress candidate Sankalp Amonkar on Sunday.

The decision was taken at a public meeting called by the rebel BJP workers at Headland, Sada. Councillors of Mormugao Municipality  Nilesh Navelkar and Bhavna Bhonsle burst out in anger against Milind Naik and accused him of having played dirty politics with the BJP workers in Mormugao. They claimed that Naik even failed to resolve the WISL workers’ issue due to which hundreds of WISL workers who are still active BJP members had to face undue hardships.
