Cops seek time till Fri, Babu continues to be on interim bail

The Crime Branch has sought time from the district and sessions court Margao to file a reply in opposition leader Babu Kawlekar’s anticipatory bail plea.



 The court has given the crime branch till 29th of September morning time to file its reply. 

Babu has got an interim order against any attempt to arrest him after he sought anticipatory bail on Friday, fearing arrest.


His advocate said that in case the court asks that he be produced before it, it will be done.


The Congress leader was questioned by the crime branch for over 2 hours on Friday after he was summoned after an FIR was filed against him in under the Gambling Act after Matka material was found in his brother’s shop. His brother has been summoned to appear before the crime branch on Tuesday.
