Consensus candidate against Parrikar non starter, admits BBSM

The plan for a consensus candidate to contest against sitting Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has died a natural death.



The Bharatiya Basha Suraksha Manch today as much admitted to it, though still not completely ruling it out.

Initially there were talks of a consensus candidate. However, though the Aam Admi Party has not kept a candidate in Panji and Valpoi, the political wing of the BBSM, the Goa Suraksha Manch has put up its leader Anand Shirodkar  as a candidate against Parrikar.

The GSM formed to push the agenda of the BBSM of education in local language did not even come close to winning a seat in the recently concluded assembly elections.

Most of the speakers at the BBSM Wednesday press conference spoke on the government and its education policy.
