The alliance of Congress with Goa Forward as well as the Nationalist Congress Party may fizzle out

Goa Forward is stuck on Velim ticket while NCP on Churchill Alemao. Both the parties have however decided to wait till 15th of January to get a final call from the Congress.

Goa Forward mentor Vijai Sardesai returned from Delhi on Thursday late night after meeting the Congress high command, though he could notmeet Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi. They have asked for Velim seat instead of Porvorim. The regional party has also agreed to compromise on Navelim seat, but not Velim. Remaining three seats are Fatorda, Saligao and Siolim.

Goa’s NCP chief Jose Philip D’Souza said his party leaders in Delhi have made all the efforts for alliance with the Congress. Though he does not reveal what is the contention of the Congress, sources of Goa365 claim that Congress is not ready to join hands with Churchill Alemao.
