Congress cries foul as it loses both seats in by-poll

The Congress said that the Bharatiya Janata Party had lured voters by offering them jobs and used the government machinery to threaten and voters so that the BJP candidates could win in both Panji and Valpoi.

Shantaram Naik the Goa Congress president said that the BJP tactic was going to people’s houses and offering them jobs. Naik also accused the BJP of threaten voters businesses to ensure that they voted for the BJP. 

Both Congress candidates in Panji and Valpoi lost with the Valpoi candidate loosing by a margin of more than 10,000 votes.

The Congress also accused the BJP of indulging in electoral terrorism.
