Congress has urged Goa Governor Mridula Sinha to either summon the Assembly Session or dissolve the House since session must be held within 6 months

The period expires on 3rd March while the Assembly result would be announced on 11th of March.

But the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party claims that the Supreme Court has already answered this issue in the past.

Thus no need to summon the session or dissolve the Assembly.

The last Assembly session was on 31st of August.

Thus it was mandatory to hold another session by 3rd of March.

Congress has raised this technical issue and has asked for summoning of the session or dissolution of the House.

GPCCPresident Luizinho Faleiro terms it as a constitutional breakdown. And Opposition Leader Pratapsing Rane demands a President’s Rule.

wered this issue in the past. Thus no need to summon the session or dissolve the Assembly.

But the BJP has a different view on this and chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar has already asked the Advocate General to advice on this situation.

South Goa MPAdv Narendra Sawaikar feels neither summoning the session nor dissolving the House is required.

He says the Supreme Court has already answered the issue in the past, but the Governor or the President are free to decide about it.
