The issue of making Manohar Parrikar Goa’s chief minister is becoming a matter of debate.

AICC Secretary Girish Chodankar claims that Parrikar coming back as the CM would help the Congress to increase its seats. BJP spokesperson Pramod Sawant says the decision would be taken after election, but ultimately a Goan would become the CM.

AICC secretary Girish Chodankar has a different logic. He interprets sidelining chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar is a clear indication of the BJP conceding its defeat. He has also dared the BJP to declare Parrikar as the CM candidate.

BJP spokesperson Pramod Sawant the decision regarding BJP’s new CM would be taken by the Parliamentary Board of Delhi, not the Goa MLAs. But no matter who would be the CM, he says the person would be a Goan, may be presently based in Delhi.
