Babush Monseratte of United Goans Party has agreed to the alliance proposal of the Congress, but Goa Forward is still negotiating

The regional party has alleged that Congress is promoting RSS supporter in Velim. They are offered only three seats by the Congress.

After meeting the sub-committee formed to discuss the alliance on Wednesday in Delhi, Goa Forward mentor Vijai Sardesaiwas waiting in Delhi to meet Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi. Goa Forward is not happy with the Congress proposal because they have already declared Filip Neri as their Velim candidate. But Goa Forward wants Velim at any cost.

They don’t want Povorim seat with Rohan Khaunte as their candidate, which is offered to them. This is what Goa Forward said.

The alliance of the United Goans Party will however be only for Panaji seat of Babush Monseratte. His three other candidates would contest as Congress candidates. And his Kutthali candidate Ramakant Borkar will have a friendly contest with the Congress candidate Gilbert Mariano Rodrigues. Babush is happy with this.

Meanwhile, Nationalist Congress Party’s national leader Praful Patel met the sub-committee on Thursday evening. They have demanded four seats, but Congress may offer them only two seats – Bnavali for Churchill Alemao and Vasco for Jose Philip D’Souza.
