Cong accepts Faleiro’s resignation, 3 names under consideration

And the party is right now considering three names for the post: Shantaram Naik, Ramakant Khalap and Adv Yatish Naik.

None of the Congress leaders are confirming it. But sources in the Congress House confirmed to Goa365 that Navelim MLA Luizinho Faleiro and Opposition Leader Babu Kavalekar met Goa observer A Chellakumar in New Delhi.

Sources also confirmed that Faleiro’s resignation is being accepted. We contacted Chellakumar to confirm it.

But perhaps he is waiting for vice president Rahul Gandhi to formally accept it.

Sources have indicated that a formal announcement in this regard would be made this week along with the name of the new president.

While high command had earlier given green signal to Rajya Sabha MP Shantaram Naik to take over, sources said two more names are being pushed forward.

One is veteran Congress leader Ramakant Khalap and second is a young new face Adv Yatish Naik.
