Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Alliance Ram Nath Kovind met Goa’s MLAs and ministers to seek their votes for his election on Saturday.

The meeting was held at a resort in Bogmalo. Churchill Alemao also attended it, but he says his vote would be decided by the party.

The presidential election will be conducted on the 17th of July and the counting of votes will be done on the 20th of July.

Besides the local MLAs, some union ministers too were present. The presidential post is largely a ceremonial one but the president is the Supreme Commander of the armed forces.

No war or emergency can be declared without his signature.
