25 Aug 2017 07:48 PM

The counting for the Panji and the Valpoi bye polls is slated for Monday. The results are locked in the EVM machines which are under lock and key at the Entertainment Society of Goa office in Panaji.

The counting will start at 8 in the morning with postal ballots being taken up first. The EVMs will then be taken up at 14 counting tables within half an hour. The results should be out within an hour.

The elections were conducted for Panji and Valpoi seats after BJP MLA Siddarth Kuncalienkar resigned to make way for Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.

Parrikar  came back from the Centre after the 2017 assembly elections. Vishwajit Rane had resigned from the Congress and as MLA of Valpoi and joined the BJP.
