A video on social media has shaken up the whole state of Goa. Because it describes how BJP’s Poriem candidate Vishwajeet Krishnarao Rane murdered Shanu Gaonkar from Saleli 10 years ago.

But the police are still not taking any action. The Congress has now demanded a CBI inquiry. And the Goa Human Rights Commission has issued notices to the government authorities.

Whole Goa was shaken up in 2006 when Prithviraj Rane from Saleli in Sattari taluka was stoned and killed by the villagers because Rane was allegedly harassing them. Soon after, a villager Shanu Gaonkar disappeared.

The police have still not been able to find him or about him.

Vishwajeet is the brother of Prithviraj. His ex-driver Ardalkar now reveals on a video that Vishwajeet killed him. Watch this video.

Even after this video went viral on social media, the police have still not acted against the BJP candidate.

North Goa Superintendent of Police Kartik Kashyap says they have recorded statements of all the people the driver has mentioned. And they are now reconstructing the case.

All India Congress Committee secretary Girish Chodankar alleges that police are not acting,

He has also asked the Defence minister Manohar Parrikarand  chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar not to interfere in the case.

He has also demanded a CBI inquiry.

On the other hand, RTI activist Aires Rodrigues has approached the Goa Human Rights Commission.

The Commission has now issued notices to the chief secretary and the IGP to appear before them on 28th of February.
