Babal bail case adjourned till 4 Oct, procedure questioned

The Madgao district and sessions court adjourned the proceedings after the public prosecutor sought time on account of unavailability of case papers.

The defence on the other hand has raised questions over the integrity of the evidence.

Matka material was found in premises of Opposition leader Babu Kavalekar’s brother BabalKavalekar’s place during the raid of ACB.

The investigation in this matter is being handled by the Crime Branch.

Counsel of Babal Kavalekar, Adv. Rajiv Gomes said he has pointed out several flaws in the investigation procedure in this matter on behalf of Babal Kavalekar.

Say was filed in the matter of Babu Kavalekar’s interim bail by the prosecution on Friday. Babu’s counsel said that they have assured the police of complete cooperation in the matter.
