AGI says SC order not for bars, bar owners say don’t implement

The bar and restaurant owners have decided to urge the Excise commission or the chief secretary to keep the Supreme Court order on banning of liquor sale within 500 metres of the highways on hold.



They have said that the Attorney General has made a statement that the Supreme Court order is not applicable to the bars and restaurants.


President of all Goa bar and restaurant owners association    Michael  Carrasco said  they will also  demand  that the new  government   amend the  Excise policy to suit goa. 

Heavyweights in Calangute have finally spoken in the same tune. MLA Michael Lobo and his arch rival Joseph Siqueira both have opposed the proposed National Highway status to the Aguada to Arpora via Calangute.

They say this decision will badly affect the Tourism businesses in Calangute and nearby places.

Meanwhile GPCCPresident Luizinho Faleiro said that Congress party would like to warn the Central Government on wrong decision taken against the interest of the state which were not only dangerous but also anti Goan.

Congress Party formedSpecial Cell of the Department of Tourism and Bar affected people would take issues those Goan’s affected due to closure of their Bars and Restaurants in the State
