3 candidates quit NCP to contest on GVP tickets

The Nationalist Congress Party has received a major jolt. Their three candidates - Nelly Rodrigues, George Barreto and Rakhi Naik have quit the party and joinedGoa Vikas Party to fight Assembly election.



Nelly Rodrigues from Kutthali and George Baretto from Navelim resigned from the NCP on Friday morning, citing poor decision making, lack of leadership, an insecurity of getting party ticket. Rakhi Naik from Sanguem resigned later.

Later in the evening, Goa Vikas Party President Lyndon Monteiro announced four candidates, including these three who left the NCP.

NCP’s Goa President Jose Philip D’Souza said he would try and get them back in the party as they might have been hurt or forced by somebody.
