Goa Suraksha Manch has come down heavily on the BJP led government for one of its ministers demanding a ban on the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, the government banning Pramod Muthalik entering Goa and withdrawing its petition in the Velim church attack case.

The RSS-backed political party criticised Goa Forward minister Vijai Sardesai’s demand to ban the VHP for disturbing communal harmony of Goa.

GSM President Anand Shirodkar has also dared Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar to ban the VHP.

This is what Goa Forward Minister Vijai Sardesai had said while speaking with reference to the beef issue, at a press conference held on Tuesday.

The GSM leader also objected to the government action to prohibit Ram Sene chief Pramod Muthalik from entering Goa.

According to Shirodkar, the government should have acted only if Muthalik had actually disturbed the communal fabric of Goa, not before that.

GSM leader Ganesh Gaonkar says that withdrawing the petition challenging court order to drop charges of attempt to murder in the Velim Church attack case of 2012 was also an indication of minority appeasement and saving its government.
