Goa Forward has demanded with the Election Commission suspension of all the Salcete-based electoral officers including the deputy collector.

They have pointed out over 50 names of voters being shifted from Curtorim to Fatorda, without even changing their residential addresses.

Goa Forward feels that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party must have done such rigging all over Goa to benefit their candidates. Party general secretary Mohandas Lolienkar has sent a letter to the local election office demanding suspension of these officers, followed by a thorough inquiry.

Goa Forward President Prabhakar Timble is a former State Election Commissioner. He feels that such thing cannot happen without officers’ connivance, thus they should be kept away from the election process.
