Doctor from Bandora sets up a role model for rainwater harvesting

Despite heavy rainfall in Goa several places in the state remain with shortage of water throughout the year. This is mainly because of lack of interest by people in harvesting the natural flowing rain water.



Authorities also fail at times to build storage tanks or reservoirs, but a dentist couple from Bandora village in Ponda has done some excellent work in saving the natural resource in water by developing a rain harvesting project in their own residence.

This water is naturally treated and used by them for all their domestic purposes. It is stored into the tanks using this special input channels. Dr. bandodkar informed about his rainwater harvesting venture.

Dr. Bandodakar says government is giving several incentives with various schemes for saving natural resources and energies, it is people who now should take the initiative too.
