Truckers on Saturday threatened to come out on the streets in case the government does not agree to their demand of Rs 14 per tonne per km.

They have very categorically said that they are not willing to accept the 12.50 Rs per tone per km rate announced on Friday.

Nilkant Gawas, the All Goa Truck Owners association President said that they would be forced to take the same steps that they had taken in 2015 when Laxmikant Parsekar was the chief minister.

He also asked the chief minister Manohar Parrikar to take them into confidence when they were fixing these transportation rates. This decision was taken at a meeting held at the secretariat between the chief minister Manohar Parrikar and stakeholders on Friday.
