20 Apr 2017 08:20 PM

45 Sonshi villagers were released on bail on Thursday. They had spent more than a week in jail.

RC books of trucks purportedly of a mining company Sesa were placed as surety with the authorities. Sonshi falls in Poriem constituency represented by Congress leader Pratapsingh Rane.

Sonshi has been on  the boil over the arrests and the detention of the villagers protesting against the mining traffic pollution and seeking employment by blocking Sesa mining trucks .

The Villagers had till now refused bail till their demands were met. Earlier in the day Vishwajit Rane had said that he was willing to pay the bail of arrested villagers.

Meanwhile the Aam Aadmi Party has said that the Mining Companies are hand in glove with the government and are using the government machinery such as Police to suppress the voices of innocent villagers of Sonshi who opposed the illegalities. the locals dispersed from the spot and opened the road for traffic.
