Mining truck owners have decided to defy the chief minister and come on roads.

They have even threatened to stop the ore transport if outside trucks are pushed into service.

On the other hand, some truck owners have also started public protests against the petition to the court to reduce the mining cap.

Though the government and the mining companies are keen on restarting business in full swing, they are not willing to agree to the truck owners demands on rates.

And the government after a series of meetings has agreed to a rate which is not agreeable to the trucks

Members of the truck owners associations along with office bearers and some mine-affected people sat on a Dharna at VagusPali on Thursday morning.

The dharna is to protest against Goa Foundation’s petition in Supreme  Court to reduce the mining cap to 12 million tonnes from the existing 20 million tonnes.
