GF retracts its pro-coal transport stand

Goa Forward has retracted its statement on coal pollution.

The ruling coalition partner now wants to take a firm stand on the issue only after studying it thoroughly. It has also opposed any kind of pollution.

Goa Forward chief spokesperson Prashant Naik had on Sunday indirectly supported coal handling and transportation in Vasco by suggesting to carry it in closed containers.

This received a heavy backlash from all the corners. Goa Forward general secretary Mohandas Lolayekar now says it would take a proper stand only after meeting the people in Vasco and studying it thoroughly.
