The Dharbandoda & Sanvordem Sesa Goa Truck Owners bodies temporarily suspended their agitation on Monday.

They took this decision after the Sesa Goa Vedanta gave a written letter to the Sub Divisional Magistrate Dharbandoda that they are not in a position to start the mining transport from Codli mines.

Chief Minister Parrikar has also postponed the meeting with MLAs and truckers which was supposed to be held on Monday.

A force of around 220 police personnel along with Mamlatdars and SDM Dharbandoda were stationed outside the gate of Codli mines for more than 4 hours as Sesa had shown intent of starting their activities at Codli mines from Monday.

Truckers had gathered to oppose the attempt by the company to start mining transport.

They were accompanied by Sanvordem MLA Deepak Pawaskar and Sanguem MLA Prasad Gaonkar.

Kudchade MLA Nilesh Cabral was not present with the truckers on Monday morning but he says he is with them.

He is of an opinion that mining activities should start first; the issues can be resolved later.
