‘Violent’ Kutthali Gramsabha adopts historic resolution against river nationalistation

  The gram sabha witnessed high octane drama as it turned violent after Ryan Gomes, husband of a local panch allegedly abused Sarpanch Senia Periera and manhandled the Police.

Gomes who is not a gram sabha member was later arrested by the Verna Police.

The gram sabha witnessed verbal and physical clashes violent after sarpanch objected to the presence of Olencio Simoes and Goa against coal representatives who were not members of the gram sabha.

Sarpanch senia Periera told Olencio not to instigate members and occupy a seat separately which agitated the other locals and led to clashes between both the sides.

The highlight of the Gram Sabha was to adopt a resolution to oppose nationalisation of rivers, the resolution was adopted but after the clashes, the panchayat secretary called off the gram sabha.

 On the other hand, Olencio Simoes of Goa against Coal says the organization is aiming to pass the resolution against river nationalization in all 7 panchayats.
