truckers say cooperative banks don't implement OT'S scheme

The south goa and north goa truck owners associations have alleged that the One Time Settlement Scheme of the Goa Govt. has not benefited majority of the truck owners.



 has not benefited majority of the truck owners. They say that  this scheme has been implemented only by the nationalized banks while the cooperative banks and societies have ignored the scheme.

The president of South Goa Progressive Truck Owners Association president Prakash Raut Dessai said that several truck owners had taken loan to buy trucks from co-operative banks and other financial institutions.

However these financial institutions have refused to implement OTS.

Treasurer of the Association Caitan Fernandes said the co-operative Banks have done good business with the truck owners, but today the banks are not ready to implement the OTS scheme.
