Timely intervention of Police averts major tragedy in Cuncolim

 The helpless daily wage workers of Nicomet Industries had decided to take this step since they have not received their wages for the last 2 and a half months.

The company claims they have paid the contractor but the contractor has not paid the workers.

 22 daily wage workers of this company are from different parts of the country. They had gathered outside the company premises in the Cuncolim Industrial Estate on Tuesday morning.

They got furious when company informed them that their payments were handed over to their contractor Mondal. But he is currently absconding from Monday.

They decided to self-immolate themselves.PI of Cuncolim Police Station Shailesh Narvekar immediately rushed to the spot.

He has also suggested the company officials to provide food and ration for these workers till their issue is settled.
