Some fishing trawlers stranded in deep sea because of bad weather

Around 15 fishing trawlers that had gone to the sea to catch fish on Monday failed to return to the jetty on Wednesday because of bad weather.



While most remained in the deep sea, some went to the Karwar port for safety.  A Coast  Guard helicopter, however, kept a watch on the boats.

Fearing trouble, some trawlers did not venture to the sea. A number of trucks that came to take the fish had to stay put at Cutbon jetty. A Coast Guard

Some reliable sources informed media that the boats are set to return to Cutbon soon weather permitting.

The president of Cutbon Boat Owners Association said the Fisheries Department failed to update the Association about the weather condition.
